National Educational Welfare Board launches new userfriendly website www.newb.ie
The National Educational Welfare Board (NEWB) has today (4 december 2006) launched a new website www.newb.ie
The new site has been developed to provide schools and families with easy access to information in relation to school attendance issues and also to provide the newb with a means of acquiring feedback on quality of service and the issues that impact negatively on school attendance
The information menu on the left hand side of the homepage contains detailed information about the newb under the categories of home; about us, news, publications; frequently asked questions (faqs), careers and tenders. Across the top of the home page the site contains three innovative portals or mini-websites designed to cater for the specific needs of schools, parents/guardians and young people. Information categories, links, faqs and feedback mechanisms within each of these three sections have been individually tailored to the relevant audience.
Commenting on the new website the NEWB ’s Director of Corporate Services, Laura Slevin said: “the new NEWB ’s website is part of our ongoing effort to improve the quality of service we provide to schools and parents. It is hoped that over time, as our service develops, the new structure will allow us to easily update and enrich the information we provide to the schools we work with and the families we support.”
The www.newb.ie was develop by Fruit design, www.fruitdesign.ie
