Charter of Children's Rights

As a young person receiving an education I have the following rights:

1. The right to an education.

2. The right to be safe and protected.

3. The right to be trusted and treated as a capable and functioning person.

4. The right to express my views and have my opinions taken seriously.

5. The right to privacy and to be treated as an individual.

6. The right to special help if I have particular problems or if I have a disability.

7. The right to regular support from a Educational Welfare officer when necessary.

8. The right to information about my life and to have my personal information treated with respect and in confidence.

9. The right to have my religion and heritage respected.

10. The right to time for play and leisure activities.
